I LOVE this little guy he was tired and still was willing to give me a few smiles! I was nervous about pictures since it literally rained all day until about an hour before we started. This fantiastic family doesn't get scared by a few sprinkles though and I'm happy with how they turned out here's the Peak!!...

Lena & Jeff {giving a traditional wedding a unique twist}
I've been very excited for Lena and Jeff's wedding since the beginning on the season. In April I photographed one of Lena friend's wedding (Courtney and Kyle), so I got to see all of L&J's venues and C&K's wedding party was a blast so it got me super excited to photograph a wedding with not only people I knew would be an awesome group but I'd also get to see Courtney and Kyle again (Courtney & Lena were one of each other's bridesmaids)! The nerves set in though, every wedding is completely different and it was very important to me that even though they had the same venues their photos told the story of their day, and weren't cookie cutter! This is a goal for all weddings but even more so with these two weddings...
Talking to Lena about her day she let me in on a lot of details and elements throughout the day that were unique and many were things I had never seen before! Since I do 20-30 weddings a year it isn't common for me to experience more than one new thing at a wedding, if at all!
Just a few little things that made me think "AWESOME, I've never seen this before and it's a fantastic idea!" (See if you can find them in their preview below as well!!).....
Streamers (instead of bubbles or bird seed) guest wave these as you make your exit from the church.
Cake "pop" ball cake! (Um the most delicious thing you will ever try!)
They had slideshows that played during the dances (Lena & Jeff together during their first dance together. Lena growing up during the father daughter dance and Jeff growing up during the mother son dance!)
Lena dedicated her bouquet to her mother that is a role model to her and was a huge help in planning the wedding. I know there are more but that's the main ones!! NOW enjoy the preview I'd love your feedback & Comments!

At the end of every wedding I always ask the bride, groom and both sets of parents if there is anything else they would like photos of before I leave for the evening. Most of the time there isn't anything else but sometimes there is so I do this to make sure!! When I asked Jeff if there was anything else we wanted photos of he said "If Lena's happy, I'm happy!" Even though you would think, how sweet, but this is an obvious response; Right?! This is the first time a groom has said this...it truly was sweet!

Heather {Nesting}
I had a busy but FANTASTIC weekend!! Saturday I photographed a beautiful wedding and Saturday I took a little trip with my baby girl up to Minnesota for my cousin Heather's baby shower!! Growing up I remember how I always looked up to my cousins! They are beautiful and warm hearted. I'm so happy that we are able to get together when we do (even though it seriously needs to be more often!!). After Heather's shower which was a great relaxing time we went back to her place for a bit then Heather and I took a little trip to a nature reserve. Thankfully we didn't see any snakes which I heard about! and Lucky me they had a sign posted with "CAUTION: Poison Ivy" and a picture of what it looks like (Poison Ivy was very abundant around the sign and I feel like next time I go trekking threw the middle of the woods I'll be better prepared to avoid the poison ivy (which you might remember I got it on my face in May; if you don't remember let me just tell you, not fun!) Back on track we had a fun time taking pictures and catching up, talking about baby stuff and various other things! I was pretty excited to take a peak at these. On my drive home I had to pull over to feed little miss A (who is 5 months old) and I thought about just editing them in the car as she ate!! Here are my favorites.... Heather I hope you like them I'm SUPER excited to meet your little darling! :)

Molly & Kolton are gonna get hitched!!
Molly and Kolton are a great couple!! So easy going and genuine. I felt horrible that our first take for taking engagement pictures ended only after about 10 minutes with a not so great memory, both ours cars were broken into and had things stolen, including my camera bag :( Thank goodness part 2 was less eventful, I was worried it would start down pouring a few minutes after we started. I'm happy to report I held off until I was driving home and that we actually got to see the sun peak out a little towards the end.
You know how this goes...Here's the sneaky Peak!! ENJOY
